Welcome to the Pedal Thru The Pines!

The Family Crisis Center invites you to our 10th Annual Pedal Thru The Pines for a fun-filled cycling event that directly supports the programs and service offered by the Center. This year cyclists will enjoy riding the country roads of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee Counties that are close to the parks. The routes provide a unique experience for cyclists of every level. Well stocked rest stops, friendly volunteers and a top notch veteran SAG Team add to the success of this event.

Thank you for supporting the Family Crisis Center and our vision of a safe community built on equality without the existence of violence.

What:

  • Distances of 22, 40 or 70 miles (on paved roads).
  • All routes have SAG support, rest stops with restrooms and refreshments.
  • BP MS 150 Recommended Ride.
  • Mechanical support at the start and at all rest stops.
  • Ride Tips and FAQ – This can be a challenging ride for some, please read our Ride Tips and FAQ page describing the route and tips on riding and training.

When:

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012, 9AM
Check-in and Registration the day of the ride from 6:30 to 8:30 AM.
All distances start at 9:00 AM.

Registration:

Every rider must register!

Please note that registration is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Early Registration:

Early registration is available (both by mail and online) through Wednesday, February 22, 2012 with a $40 fee. Participants must send payment and completed forms postmarked by this date or register through the online system. After this date, online registration is available through February 29, 2012 with a $45 fee. Participants may also register in person, at Vernon L. Richards Riverbend Park from 6:30-8:30 AM, on ride day with a $45 fee.

Online registration is available for $40 through Wednesday, February 22, 2012. After this date, online registration is $45. Online registration will close at midnight on Wednesday, February 29, 2012.

Mail-in registration is available for $40 through Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Payment and completed forms must be sent postmarked by February 22, 2012. Mail-in registration is not available after February 22, 2012.

T-Shirts:

Each year, the Center orders t-shirts for cyclists riding in Pedal Thru The Pines. A t-shirt will be available for cyclists who pre-register for the event. T-shirts and packets can be picked up by pre-registered cyclists the day of the event beginning at 6:30 AM. T-shirts for cyclists who register the day of the event will be distributed, based on availability, after the ride. For cyclists registering on the day of the event, it is not possible for us to guarantee a shirt, or shirt of your desired size.

Volunteering:

Volunteers are a vital part of the Family Crisis Center, and there are many ways to volunteer your time and lend your talents to support the agency. Opportunities to volunteer for special events include serving on the event committee; assisting with set-up/tear-down; assisting with registration; assisting at one of the rest stops; and cheering in the cyclists at the start/finish line.
